David Vermaas is leading a research group on CO2 circularity and energy conversion at TU Delft. He has a cum laude PhD degree in chemical engineering, and is advisor and co-founder of start-up companies AquaBattery and SeaO2. His research includes electrochemical CO2 capture, CO2 conversion, flow batteries and electrolysis.
He is collaborating with peers in academia and with industry, for example in the e-Refinery institute. He is also part of the multidisciplinary Energy Transition Accelerator Team and coordinates the Climate change Mitigation theme in the Climate Action program at TU Delft.
