Vladimir Urutchev (MEP) is a nuclear engineer with numerous specialization in the field of nuclear safety and management.

As part of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) he took part in peer reviews on the safety of nuclear power plants worldwide. Before being elected as an MEP, Vladimir Uruchev was a chief engineer at Kozloduy NPP for over 25 years. In the current parliamentary legislature (2014-2019) he is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy ( ITRE)  and the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI)  as well as Member of the EU-Russia and EU-Albania Delegations. Vladimir Urutchev was recently elected  vice - President of the European Energy Forum (EEF).
