João Nuno Lacerda Teixeira de Melo (Vila Nova de Famalicão, March 18, 1966) is a Portuguese lawyer and politician.

Lawyer and legal consultant by profession,graduated in law from the University Portucalense Infante D. Henrique, he began his political career as a militant of the Social Democratic Centre, currently one of the vice presidents of its National Political Committee.

He was president of the Parliamentary Group of the CDS-PP in the National Assembly and vice president of the National Association of Popular Mayors.

He was elected president of the Municipal Council of Vila Nova de Famalicão and Member of the Portuguese Parliament, in the VIII, IX and X Legislatures. In the 2009 European elections, was the head-to-list application of the CDS-PP, and has been elected to the European Parliament on 7 June of this year.

Nuno Melo was member on the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs before moving to the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development in 2014.

He belongs to the European People's Party.
