Marian is an Independent MEP representing Ireland in the European Parliament. She is now in her third European term and is a full member and ALDE Coordinator of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee, a substitute member on the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and on the Petitions Committee.
Her legislative work is extensive and includes being the Parliament chief negotiator for the EU Globalisation Fund, which was set up to assist redundant workers gain access to education and training or to start their own business. In2012, Marian won the MEP of the Year award for her work in the area of Employment& Social Affairs.
